Was wondering what was keeping you occupied. I figured you were too busy writing your book, or working a second job. Or both.Hope the sequestration cuts and/or shutdown don't affect you.
Oh, just been busy. My regular job has picked up a lot so I don't have time to do other stuff. That's OK though, at least for now. The shutdown is affecting our customer shop, and is getting annoying, but I'm enjoying the whole political theater.I should start writing my book; I have an outline in my head and I think it will turn out pretty good. It's a better concept than Amish Vampires in Space, at least. It turns out that there are a lot of things that make 1807 interesting historically. I'm sure most years would be like that if you start studying them in detail.Been busy with Cub Scouts as well. I'm still putting my boys in Cubs and Boy Scouts, despite the BSA's policy change. The thing is, the policy change is very minimal: they won't kick out scouts that come out of the closet. Any sexual behaviors, though, of any type, are still grounds for being kicked out. That, and the fact that our particular Troop and Pack are run by good men that I know, makes me think it's OK to continue. I am paying attention to TrailLife USA, though, and will discuss with the Troop leadership about possibly moving to that group. If BSA changes to allow gay adults as leaders, though, then forget it. My son's troop would still be OK but what about BSA camps? The gays don't give a crap about BSA, they just want to tear it down and recruit our sons into their "lifestyle". Bastards.
I don't see how anything could be as good as Amish Vampires in Space. I clicked the link and even thought about buying that one.
"I should start writing my book; I have an outline in my head and I think it will turn out pretty good."Well, it won't write itself....
Yes, say what you will about the concept, but I'm quite proud of how Amish Vampires in Space turned out. ;)Kerry
Kerry, yes, I'm sure Amish Vampires in Space is pretty awesome, considering you actually WROTE the thing, and I have yet to start mine in earnest.
LOL. Well get started, man! No better time than the present!
I mentioned Amish Vampires on my Facebook page, so hopefully you got a few sales.
The new Cabela's south of the hospital? That particular store is the closest to me, but it is a bit of drive for me nonetheless. You are not alone ... simple pleasures for being able to buy really good stuff and cool gear isn't affordable to me either.Alias, it is always a matter of pick and choose. Dave
Thanks! Much appreciated. You know, I lived in WA state for a number of years, and I once ran into Richard Karn (Al Borland) at the grocery store. He wasn't wearing flannel, though. :)
